What happened to the project THOR?

Publishing this open letter I wrote to Dr. Plescia of the CNR, which took over the project THOR , to know the status of development of this project, I have always considered very important since I read for the first time. I hope for your response, and to be able to publish in this same post.

Hi Dr. Plescia,

I had mailed just before the waste emergency in Naples last year, just to have some news and to know the status of the project in question. At the time told me that you were doing an experiment on a site area of ​​Sicily, and that it would take a year to check all the features of the project, the year I think it is past, rewrite it to know that it was of this project, since it is not even mentioned in the media.

Mine is a simple curiosity as a private citizen, who saw in your project a great opportunity to have it both ways in the emergency situation across the board (not just suffering from Naples garbage, especially in the world), eliminate waste without causing pollution (or at a very low level compared to other technologies) and a reduced use of energy from outside (from what I understand of the project, once started a self-reinforcing and can be started and stopped whenever you like).

Besides, it seemed to me a source of "pride" nationalism is a possibility that a technique / technology could be an all-Italian aid instrument to the entire globe.

Dear Mr. Zanardi,

In 2008 they completed the testing activities of THOR in Sicily. The initiative was transferred to a mixed company structure (Buzzi Unicem and ASSING) that is carrying out other experiments to produce clean fuels for cement kilns.
Personally I do not mind most of the project, as it is now directly managed by the industries.
I do not know if and when the machines will be marketed THOR.

My business is now focused on treatment systems for other types of waste and dedicated to the development of innovative energy recovery systems.
